A Statement of Faith

We affirm the unfailing Love and Goodness of God.
We celebrate the unique gifts of each person,
created in the Light
and contributing in the ONE Body of Christ.

We envision each man, woman and child,
young and old, dark and bright,
animal and mineral, natural and angelic,
moving together, beautiful in God's sight.

We live the vision of peace,
the way of compassion and non-violence.
We do all that we can to bring about healing on Earth
and harmony in our relationships and community.

We embrace the liberating power of forgiveness;
we act to transform any enmity into friendship.

We see this church reaching out with kindness to everyone;
by our caring acts and prayerful living,
we make the Creator's Love visible.

We lift up our vision of a larger unity emerging,
beyond divisions of race, gender, age and culture.
We welcome change and sing a new song.

We gather together in the midst of our diversity.
We aim to be more patient and compassionate
in the midst of any irritation and insensitivity.

We prefer to find motivation in joy and hope.
In the midst of difficulties, we see the promise in life.
Through our grief we look deeply for the greater fullness.

We seek to be a blessing, not a hindrance.
We enjoy contributing more than sitting on the sidelines.
We prefer to be generous and flexible, not stingy and tight.
We hold to what is helpful and just for the well being of all.

We journey together, grateful and expectant;
We find delight whenever we can be an instrument
for God's outpouring Goodness in this world.
In every uncertainty, we welcome larger horizons opening ahead.
